This policy describes how Foundation Squaring Calculator (the "App") handles information. The App is a foundation-layout calculator published by AxelStack (the "Developer"). It applies to the current version of the App; see "Changes" below.

Information the App collects

The App reports usage statistics to a Matomo analytics server operated by the Developer. These consist of:

• Which screens you open, and when
• Which settings you change — for example switching to metric, or changing the tolerance
• How far you get through the introduction shown on first launch
• Which subscription plan is active, whether a free trial is running, and when a purchase is started, completed, cancelled or restored — including the price of the plan, so the Developer can total up sales. This is the same information described under "Subscriptions and purchases" below; the analytics server records that it happened, and never sees a payment detail.
• The app version, your device platform, and its OS version
• Your screen size and language
• The time of day on your device
• A randomly generated identifier, created on first launch and stored on the device. Reinstalling the App generates a new one.

As with any request over the internet, the analytics server also receives the IP address the request came from.

The App functions without a network connection. When there is no connection, these statistics are held on your device and sent once one is available.

Scope of collection

The measurements you enter — lengths, widths, diagonals, and the results calculated from them — are processed on your device and are not transmitted. The App does not ask for your name, email address, or account details, requests no runtime permissions, and does not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or files.

Information stored on your device

Your preferences (unit system, theme, language, squaring tolerance, fraction rounding), the measurements from your current layout, and whether your subscription is active are saved in the App's own storage, so the App is where you left it when you return to it. This is removed when you uninstall the App.

Subscriptions and purchases

The App is sold by subscription, with a one-time lifetime purchase as an alternative. All payment is handled by Apple's App Store or Google Play. The Developer never sees or receives your payment details.

To know whether your subscription is active, the App uses RevenueCat, a subscription-management service. When you buy, restore a purchase, or the App checks your access at launch, RevenueCat receives a randomly generated customer identifier along with the purchase record the store reports — which plan, whether a free trial is running, and when it renews or expires. This identifier is generated by RevenueCat and is not linked to your name or email address.

This is the one part of the App that requires a network connection, and only occasionally. If the store cannot be reached, the App keeps working from the access it has already recorded on your device.

Service providers

Usage statistics are collected using Matomo running on infrastructure the Developer controls. Subscription status is handled by RevenueCat, Inc., whose own privacy policy governs the data described above once it reaches them.

The link to our website

Settings contains a link to axelstack.com. Tapping it hands the address to your browser and leaves the App. The address carries a tag identifying this App and its version, so the Developer can see which app a visitor arrived from. Once you are on the website, that site's privacy practices apply rather than this policy.

Children

The App is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

This policy may be updated as the App changes. Updates will be reflected by revising the "Last updated" date above, and material changes will be described in the App's release notes.
