Maple Syrup Calculator (the "App") is published by AxelStack. There are no accounts, and the App never asks for your name or email address. Your calculations stay on your device.

What is collected, and why

• Usage data, to see which calculators are worth building on: which screens are opened and used, what happens on the plans screen, and the two answers you give during setup — your unit system, and how big your operation is as a broad band rather than the tap count you typed in. It goes to a Matomo server AxelStack runs itself, tagged with an identifier generated at random on first launch, the version of the App, and the IP address the request came from. It is on by default and can be switched off at any time under Settings → Usage data.
• Purchase data, to give you what you paid for and restore it on a new phone. Payment is handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their own privacy policies, and RevenueCat receives your purchase history, an anonymous identifier for your installation, and your platform, country and IP address, which it processes under its own privacy policy and data-processing terms. AxelStack never receives or stores your payment details.

The analytics server is AxelStack's own, not a third party's, and usage data is never sold or shared. The App carries no advertising and no advertising identifier, and does not track you across other apps or websites. It does not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, camera or microphone, and the values you type into the calculators are never sent anywhere.

On phones with a barometer, the App reads air pressure to work out the temperature water boils at where you are. The reading is used on the device and never transmitted. On iOS this uses the Motion & Fitness permission, which you can decline and type the numbers in by hand instead.

Keeping it, and deleting it

Usage data is kept only for as long as it is useful for improving the App. Purchase records are kept for as long as needed to honour your purchase and to meet tax and accounting obligations. Whatever the App stores on your phone goes when you uninstall it, unless Android has included it in one of its own system backups. Children

The App is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
